HandsOn Suburban Chicago is an AmeriCorps Seniors grantee and receives funds through their RSVP program, a national volunteer program for individuals 55 and over. AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP helps its members use their skills, talents, interests and experience by connecting them with volunteer opportunities within the 44 communities of Northern Cook & Northern DuPage Counties it serves.
From elementary through high school, HandsOn Suburban Chicago's (HOSC) School Programs embrace a whole-child approach to youth development to support student success, both in and out of the classroom. By mobilizing community resources to provide tutoring, mentoring, service learning, social emotional learning, case management, and behavioral health services, our volunteer-led School Programs support students academically, socially, and emotionally to promote high school graduation and lifelong success.
The Community Paint-A-Thon is a unique community partnership designed to paint the exterior of homes owned and occupied by persons with limited financial resources, who are at least 60 years of age, a veteran, or have a permanent disability, making them unable to do the work.
