Career and Job Search Instructors
Volunteer instructors present one or more of a dozen hands-on group seminars that cover every aspect of job search: setting SMART goals; advanced job search techniques, job search plan development, researching and targeting prospects, branding, resume writing, connecting, interviewing, LinkedIn/social media, and more. Our greatest need is for presenters who can present specific content, and lead a group in discussion. Since the presenters will be talking about the importance of LinkedIn in the job search, it is strongly recommend the presenter have a LinkedIn profile as well. In addition, a professional demeanor and appearance is required. (Volunteer presenters need to present themselves as though job ready and it is recommended they dress professionally, as though they were ready to interview or begin work.) Equally important is follow through on the presentation date they commit to. We look to our volunteer presenters to bring the passion. We provide the training framework, audience and promotion of the seminar. A key strength of our program is that our volunteer presenters bring their experiences from a variety of industries and career backgrounds, including, but not limited to, technology, engineering, human resources, risk management, training, technology as well as sales and marketing. This is a Skill Based Volunteer (SBV) Opportunity.
