We are seeking a diversity of new docents who will become fully immersed in the Museum mission – and ultimately ambassadors in our community.

Docents are volunteers who conduct tours for visitors of all ages from diverse backgrounds. Using the techniques of dialogue and inquiry, docents encourage exploration of the exhibitions of the Museum. Participants in the Illinois Holocaust Museum Docent Training program will be provided with an introduction to the history of the Holocaust, and through discussion, exploration of exhibitions, connections to technique, and method, will receive a solid framework in providing & constructing tours.

Perks:

  • Learn about the Holocaust, genocide, human rights issues, and character education from award winning educators.
  • Immerse yourself in our special exhibits that address race, culture, ethics and human rights, and more.
  • Be a part of a passionate community and enjoy volunteer appreciation events, free admission to all Museum programs, and ongoing training.
