TBS Hospitality Volunteer (Reception) Glenview
The Hospitality Volunteer has a critical role at JourneyCare's Glenview in-patient unit (IPU). The primary tasks are to greet and accompany guests (patients’ family members and friends), answer phones and call lights, and communicate specific needs with staff and volunteers in the unit. Hospitality Volunteers also monitor and order supplies, assist with medical charts, write condolence cards, etc. Of paramount importance, too, is helping to manage the schedule of other volunteer roles in the unit (e.g., C.N.A. Assist or Care Companion). This role is extremely rewarding and will connect the volunteer with our mission of making every moment count for our patients and families. Success in this assignment depends on building very strong relationships with JourneyCare staff and other volunteers. Shifts are available every day of the week and typically last 3 hours. Orientation & Training After our 4-hour orientation, Hospitality Volunteer applicants will continue their training through engaging online courses and will shadow a current Hospitality Volunteer to become oriented to this role as well as working in our Hospice Center. Applicants must also get a 2-step tuberculosis (TB) test.
