Veteran Outreach Initiative
HandsOn Suburban Chicago's Veteran Initiative focused on bringing together community leaders, individuals and community organizations in order to create integrated solutions to address the challenges facing Veterans and military families.
Priorities Include:
- Connecting with nonprofits and government agencies that serve veterans to strengthen their Veteran service and reach.
- Recruiting and refering Veterans as volunteers, helping them to develop new skill sets and get reacquainted with careers that may have been placed on hold.
- A web-based Veteran Community Resource dedicated to Veterans in the North and Northwest suburbs.
