Arts Refreshing the Soul

Arts Refreshing the Soul (A.R.T.S.) is celebrating ten years of offering arts educational opportunities for at-risk preschoolers, tweens, teens, and families in partnership with schools, social service agencies, and other nonprofits. A.R.T.S.’ mission is to use art and music educational learning opportunities to promote potential. We teach preschoolers school readiness skills such as taking turns, active listening, how to use tools including holding a pencil, cutting with a scissors, and incorporating an assortment of art mediums such as paint. Tweens and teens learn how to work together as a team and the importance of self-care and setting goals for their future through group drumming experiences and personal art projects. A.R.T.S.’ programs strengthen the connection between parents and children (0-5 yrs.); increase tween’s positive self-worth; empower teen moms to be better parents; and help all students gain important emotional, social, and academic skills they need to succeed and grow to keep them in school through high school graduation.
