Do you play guitar, piano, accordion or other musical instruments?  Do you enjoy working with people and encouraging them to participate in a musical or theatrical  experience? 

As a Day Program Aide, you will interact with adults who are challenged with mental illness.  You'll plan musically-based social activities to enhance clients' socialization skills.  You will share games, activities, listening, improvisation, and socialization opportunities while working with Kenneth Young Center staff. 

We ask that you try to make a commitment of at least 3 months, preferably 6 months.  The hours for activities will be on WEDNESDAYS from about 1 to 2 p.m. when working directly with the clientsHours MAY BE FLEXIBLE if at all possible.  We are located in Elk Grove Village.  A background check is required, and you must be at least 21 years old.


 

[Kenneth Young Center provides community mental health and senior services to the northwest suburbs. Clients and their families come to us in some of their most desperate moments, and we help by providing:

  • Service coordination and in-home services for frail elderly persons.
  • Counseling for adults, children, families.
  • Assessment, stabilization, linkage for adults/children in psychiatric crisis.
  • Treatment, support, and recovery services for those with serious mental illness. Volunteer opportunities.
