Support High School District 214 students and their families in need
District 214 Education Foundation has launched the 214Cares Emergency Fund. Community members are invited and encouraged to donate to this emergency fund online at 214foundation.org.
All gifts will go directly to District 214 students and families based on the guidance and recommendations of school staff. These dollars may support housing needs, utility needs, basic living needs, academic needs and more.
Donations have helped us raise nearly $100,000 and disbursed over $78,000 so far, helping nearly 300 families. But the needs are on pace to far outweigh what has been collected. We are continuing this campaign to continuously address and help with housing, transportation, food and academic needs of our D214 students and their families.
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic hit Illinois, about 30 percent of District 214 students were living in poverty. District administrators and the Education Foundation are now aware of heightened needs created by lost jobs, a loss of normalcy and difficulty in meeting basic needs.
This is where the community can help in a direct manner. All gifts are tax-deductible, and donors will receive receipts.
