Senior Corps-RSVP Program Advisory Council Chairperson
Senior Corps-RSVP, a program of HandsOn Suburban Chicago, is recruiting for a new Advisory Council Chairperson. Senior Corps-RSVP works with individuals age 55+ to engage in them in volunteer opportunities in the community.
The purpose of the Advisory Council is to provide advice, guidance and support to the Project Director and staff regarding recruitment of volunteers, community interests, concerns and needs; to act as a representative of Senior Corps-RSVP throughout the community; to help evaluate the impact of the program.
The right candidate should have some experience and familiarity as a board or council member, knowledge of protocol procedures of council meetings, interest and knowledge of the capability of older adults, an interest in and some current volunteer experience, knowledge of the community, and the ability to build consensus with other council members.
The Advisory Council holds a minimum of 4 meetings, one per quarter on Tuesdays from 10:00 – 11:30. Dates are established by consensus of council members.
