C.N.A. Assistant Volunteer - Glenview
Our C.N.A. Assist volunteers partner very closely with Certified Nursing Assistants to care for patients at our Glenview in-patient unit (IPU), which translates to a role that has a lot of contact with patients facing end-of-life. Following infection control procedures, C.N.A. Assist volunteers meet with patients, sit with agitated patients, and assist with other care needs of the patient (moving, turning, bathing) as well as needs of the family. Supporting tasks may also include ordering and assisting with meals, picking up trays, stripping and making beds, and re-stocking.
This role is extremely rewarding and one that undoubtedly leaves the volunteer feeling a strong connection to our mission of making every moment count for our patients and families. Success in this assignment depends on building very strong relationships with JourneyCare C.N.A. employees.
Shifts are available every day of the week and typically last 3 hours.
Orientation & Training
After our 4-hour orientation, C.N.A. Assist Volunteer applicants will continue their training through engaging online courses as well as an additional 4-hour class specifically designed to prepare you for working in our Hospice Center. Applicants must also get a 2-step tuberculosis (TB) test.
