Doctor and Medical Appointment Volunteer Drivers
Since 1971, FISH has provided FREE DOOR-to-DOOR doctor and medical appointment transportation for residents of Maine Township who do not or who no longer are able to drive.
Volunteer Drivers are needed to take folks to doctors and medical appointments in Maine Township (i.e. Park Ridge, Des Plaines, and parts of Niles & Morton Grove). Volunteer drivers choose how much time they wish to devote. Some drive once a month; others drive more often.
Requirements include a current driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of auto insurance. FISH carries supplemental liability and accident insurance as an umbrella policy for its drivers.
