Help USA Troops
Join us in supporting a local group, Help USA Troops, as they send ‘care and comfort’ boxes to hundreds of men and women in our military who are serving overseas.
Sorting is Saturday, April 6th, 10am till done at Amvets Post 66, 700 McHenry Rd, Wheeling. Come & go; help as much as you’re able.
Packing is Sunday, April 7th, 11am till done at Amvets Post 66, 700 McHenry Rd, Wheeling. Come & go; help as much as you’re able.
If you like, you can also help in two others ways:
Donate care and comfort items, such as pocket-size candy and snack items; small size hygiene items like shampoo foot powder, sun screen, etc; envelopes, and travel-size games. Olive, Arlington Hts, in the main lobby off the circle drive, or at any of the other locations, http://helpusatroops.com/PDF/DropOff.pdf.
Each box also will contain personal cards and letters to the troops, to let them know they are supported by us at home. FYI, they love corny jokes and they love it when kids talk about their everyday life. Cards can be dropped off with donations.
