AARP Technical Coordinator
A technology coordinator is needed to provide technical expertise for all eleven AARP Tax Aide Program sites, but will be centrally located at a one designated site. The AARP Tax Aide program provides free income tax preparations for moderate and low income taxpayers with a special attention to persons 50 and older. Both federal and state returns are prepared.
Volunteers will manage computer equipment, ensure taxpayer data security, submit returns to taxing agencies, facilitate correction of any errors, troubleshoot technical issues with computers and printers, and provide technical assistance to tax aide volunteers. Good computer tech skills required.
Program runs February 1, 2022 to April 15, 2022. Volunteers are asked to commit to one same day each week during the tax season of February 1 to April 15. Not all sites are open every day of the week; exact placements will be based on your available day of the week.
You will be assigned to one of eight locations: Arlington Heights Senior Center, Arlington Heights Library, Alcott Park District Center, Wheeling Township, Des Plaines Frisbee Senior Center, Elk Grove Senior Center, Mt. Prospect Village Hall, and Palatine Senior Center. Shifts are 8:30 a. m. - 1:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
