Intergenerational Pen Pal Program
For today’s elementary school generation, there has never been a time when email, video conferencing, and text messaging wasn’t the norm. Yet, there’s something to be said for old-school communication and the benefits it had. Join our Pen Pal program to help jump start these students’ enthusiasm for writing and expanding their writing skills. Join a group of volunteers once a month, from 1:00 - 2:45 pm, to engage in handwritten communication with elementary school students in one classroom. You will exchange information and ideas with an assigned student based on their teacher's classroom curriculum. All correspondence is supervised by the classroom teacher and the Senior Corps-RSVP project coordinator. Refreshments and writing materials provided. Background Checks required.
