TBS Afterschool Tutor at Cooper Middle School
CHiL (Afterschool) Tutor at Cooper Middle School Who: HandsOn Suburban Chicago (HOSC) needs YOU to help underserved youth get the academic support they need to succeed! What: CHiL (Cooper, Holmes, and London) is an afterschool tutoring program that offers homework help to low-income middle school students. Volunteers will work with small groups of students and under the direction of program staff. Where and When: We are now accepting applications for the fall semester, which is expected to begin in September and run through the end of December. Volunteer tutors are needed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 pm at Cooper Middle School (1050 Plum Grove Circle, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089). Choose and commit to one day or more each week. Mandatory orientation/training is TBD in September. Volunteers must be willing to undergo a background check. Why: Tutoring is a fun and rewarding experience. In addition to the satisfaction that comes with positively impacting those in need, volunteering in schools is an ideal way to meet new people, enhance your resume, and/or learn new skills. Completing community service may also help youth volunteers qualify for scholarships. Make a difference in child’s life. Apply today: http://www.handsonsuburbanchicago.org/tutor
