TBS High School Volunteer Program - Sparrow's Nest Thrift Stores

Home of the Sparrow has a wonderful High School Student Volunteer Program, which allows students to fulfill volunteer/community service hours for a class, the National Honor Society, to graduate or for the experience.

Our High School Volunteer Program offers students the opportunity to volunteer at any of our seven Sparrow's Nest Thrift Stores.  As you may know, Home of the Sparrow is a transitional shelter program that provides housing and supportive services to homeless women and children in Northern Illinois.  Our mission is to provide Hope, Opportunity and Support that empowers women and children, as they journey from homelessness to self-sufficiency.  We are proud that all net proceeds from our Sparrow's Nest Stores comes back to support our programs and services.

Students do not need to complete our regular volunteer application.  To volunteer, the students simply sign up for a shift, which are available after school from 3:30 - 7:00 pm and on Saturdays. Volunteer duties include sorting and organizing donations, pricing and displaying merchandise, and providing customer service.
The opportunity date and time you are looking for is no longer available.
