TBS Shopping Assistant
Volunteers are needed to provide shopping assistance to homebound senior citizens. Shopping assistants have a flexible schedule coordinated directly between volunteer and senior. Some of the seniors are able to shop for themselves; however, they may need assistance with transportation to the store and/or assistance carrying packages into their home. Other seniors are not able to shop due to physical limitations. In this case, the senior would prepare a shopping list for the assistant.
We recommend that the volunteer assist the senior with shopping needs at a minimum of once per week. Our hope is that this program will provide social interaction with someone new and lay the groundwork for a lasting friendship. Volunteers must be 18 years & older.
A valid driver's license and proof of car insurance is required. A background check must also be completed.
